WISE - Women’s Initiative for Self Employment
Women’s Initiatives for Self Employment (WISE) is a mission of women entrepreneurs for addressing their needs and problems. This initiative promoted by HESCO through WTP. The women after having training in WTP on different employment sectors realized major limitations like Marketing of their produce, Refresher courses, Technology upgradation, Dialogue with Government Development Agency and Bank linkages.
In order to cope with above limitation, women organised themselves under the vision of WISE. The group members are all those women who formally and informally are involved with resource-based employment generating activities. These women realized to form a platform for discussing their day-to-day problems related to their endeavor. The major objectives of this group are:
* To assist in marketing,
* To popularise women produce
* To develop linkages between entrepreneurs and buyers,
* To provide feed back for quality production to entrepreneurs,
* To dovetail the entrepreneurs with Government’s on-going schemes,
* To offer a common platform for women entrepreneurs
Presently WISE have been organising monthly meetings. It is also helping women for product design, local market, refresher courses etc. It also serves women as information pool for different requirements and ins a platform between consumers and women entrepreneurs
WISE has also been helping women entrepreneurs by granting loan out the common fund donated to them. The whole procedure of loaning is simple and feasible. At present 600 members are involved in WISE BANK.
WISE is an independent group of women entrepreneurs who are devoted to find employment for themselves or for their women members. Their independent crusade for market search, Government linkages and loaning by themselves has brought ray of hope for others also.
